The "Pin-Up Bear" series was actually sort of my husband's idea; not as a series, just one image. He'd suggested to me the notion of doing a pin-up girl style image, just using a bear type guy. The idea then sat in the back of my head for I don't know how long, as I tried to decide just what I would paint, when my husband unintentionally inspired me again. I saw him standing in front of the bathroom mirror, fresh out of the shower, with his towel wrapped loosely around his waist, and he leaned against the sink to keep it in place, yet it had sunk low enough to reveal a bit of his tush... which you'll note is quite similar to the illustration.

I should note, while the image is inspired by that moment, it isn't a direct representation. I created a more robust character to stand in my husband's place. But the structure of the bathroom is based almost exactly on the bathroom of the house were were living in at the time... though I gave it all the green & white poke-a-dot theme.
