Besides art, the only other constant in my life has been a fondness for fantasy stories. Particularly I’ve always enjoyed comic book superheroes and many science fiction movies and television shows.

When I graduated from college my plans were to be a comic book artist. But, while I still love comic books, I’d fallen out of love with them as a career goal. Don’t get me wrong, if an opportunity presented itself, I’d jump on it and there are a handful of comic books ideas I have that I’d love to do someday. But for now, it just isn’t my primary career goal. All that said, unless I’m going for straight up realism, like in my Star Wars Posters, I think you can still see a lot of my comic book influences in my other illustrations.

If you read the info in the Theatre gallery, you’ll know I don’t just enjoy theatre, I also like to perform. As the Star Wars geek that I am mixed with my love of acting, I did something kind of weird. When Episode II of Star Wars was in the process of casting for Anakin Skywalker, I threw my hat in to be considered. I thought I had (at the time) a decent look for the role, and even got myself in better shape if by some miracle they would actually consider me. Alas, they didn’t  but it was the best shape I’ve ever been in in my life. Anyway, to help boost my odds, I did this painting of me as a Jedi Padawan to send with my head shot and resume.
