There’s a reason the Harry Potter gallery is at the top of the list of other galleries you’ll find here in my website. Above all the others it is my passion to be doing these illustrations based on the series of books by J.K.Rowling. Never in my life have I had stories that inspired me the way this series has.
As a result, I’ve begun this series I lovingly refer to as the “Potter-Project”. I am going to create an illustration for each chapter of each of the Harry Potter books, along with a cover painting for them all. Though they aren’t seen here on my site, I’ve also created a series of 6-10 smaller vignette paintings for each chapter.
It my be unlikely, but I have the dream I will someday get this series of illustrations published in a fully colored “special edition” of the books, utilizing all my “Potter-Paintings”.
Far fetched? Maybe. But I have to try because I feel such a connection with these stories sometimes I wonder if it’s God telling me it’s meant to be. This is exactly the type of illustration I want to do and the most truly ME in style. Whether or not they ever get published, I will continue this series till it’s complete. |
