There’s a reason the Harry Potter gallery is at the top of the list of other galleries you’ll find here in my website. Technically it should be a sub catergory in the Book Illustration section. But above everything else it is my passion to be doing these illustrations based on the series of books by J.K.Rowling. Never in my life have I had a story that inspired me the way this series has and I don‘t feel nearly as comfortable illustrating anything else as I do this wonderful story.

     As a result, I’ve begun this series I lovingly refer to as the “Potter-Project”. I am going to paint one colour illustration and five or so vignette drawings for each chapter of each of the Harry Potter books. Also there will be a cover illustration, one double sized illustration for one of the chapters (more in the longer books) and two of the vignette drawings will get painted  for use on the slipcase and a “bonus” illustration in the sleeve on the inside of the front cover.

The "POTTER PROJECT "
    Once completed, I’m actually creating mock-ups of the books the way I see them being if they were actually produced. Out of respect to copyright, with the exception of chapter titles and a few select quotes to give the feel of continuity I’m not using any of J.K.Rowling’s text but rather Loreum Ipsum (or place holding text), which for all intents and purposes is gibberish.

     So far I've only completed the illustrations to Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone. Click on the picture to the left to see photos of the completed mock-ups.

     It would be my dream to be able to spend my days doing these illustrations. But mostly, I am doing them for fun and whether or not they ever get published, I will continue this series till it’s complete. I’m having too good a time not to!!!
